and figure out how to meet the difference.
Enter School Charges
Travel, personal expenses and other miscellaneous costs can add to your total cost
of attendance. Many times, these expenses can be offset by student employment. Your financial
aid package may or may not include federal work-study or college work-study funds.
The student must put in the necessary hours to receive these funds.
Enter Grants & Scholarships
Grants and scholarships are considered gift aid and do not need to be repaid. You should
always maximize your grants and scholarships before turning to loans.
Resources for Payment
Before turning to loans, consider whether you have any savings or assets available to help meet
tuition costs. Remember, you will have to pay interest on loans so you want to borrow as little
as possible.
Meeting the Difference
Once you have exhausted your savings, income, grants and scholarships, then you may decide
to consider loans.
Summary
If you still have unmet costs, consider increasing the amount you pay by savings & income, seeking
additional outside scholarships, increasing the amount you pay by payment plan or increasing your
education loan amounts.
